Ladybird and the Midnight Sun + Rose Parker
Ladybird and the Midnight Sun | 7.30pm
Our first act is a 4-piece blues band that features the highly versatile Kat Kinley on vocals, keyboard and organ, Jason Smith – arguably Perth’s finest on electric guitar. Fusing blues, groove and a splash of good times, they create a unique sound that is entertaining, fun and bound to get you on your feet.
Ladybird & the Midnight Sun has played at festivals such as the Fringe Festival, Summer Concerts in the Park, Music to Open Your Mind and Carols in the Park. They will be showcasing some of their new songs at the Perth Blues Club which are due for release in their forthcoming album.
Rose Parker | 8.45pm
Rose Parker combines a powerhouse vocal with soaring song writing and storytelling.
Moving from folk whisperer to gospel belter Parker combines a love of gospel, alt country, folk and rock to craft songs that resonate with all these things. Her first outing at Bridgetown Blues festival was as one half of the Velvet Janes. After 4 albums and thousands of miles of touring from Sydney to San Francisco, the Janes hung up their Doc Martens and Parker has evolved from that hard earnt decade to emerge with The Rose Parker Band.
With a stellar band including multi instrumentalist and award winning David Hyams on guitars, award winning Roy Martinez on bass and Gregory Brenton on drums, this is Parkers first outing at the Blues Club. She is currently working on a new album and this gig will debut some brand new original tunes and some classic blues standards.
