7.30 pm Kniki & Mike Beale Project
Live shows have seen KNiKi and Mike Beale share the stage with the likes of legendary American bluesman Charlie Musselwhite, and grace many of the major Australian and International Music Festivals including The Phuket Blues and Rock Festival, The Himalayan Blues Festival, The Gympie Muster QLD, Bridgetown Blues Festival WA, Forth Valley Blues Festival Tasmania, Blues Alive Rockingham WA, Bruthen Music Festival Victoria, Blues on Broadbeach QLD, Cairns Festival QLD, The Bay Of Islands festival New Zealand and The Norfolk Island Jazz Festival.
A brilliant debut cd “Dead On” – engineered and produced by the legendary Adrian Stuckey (Split Enz, Neil and Tim Finn) – launched them into 2010 and saw them nominated as finalists in the Australian Blues Music Awards for Best new Talent “Holding hands with the Devil” and Best Female Vocalist “Love me like a man”
2012 saw them add several of their songs to the Australian film Nowhere Else, and release a subsequent film clip in conjunction with the films debut for the song ‘Holding Hands with the Devil’.
January 2013 has seen the pair back in the studio in Perth tracking for a new CD planned for release in August of that year. This album, whilst staying true to their musical roots, featured some more acoustic instruments such as upright bass and some bigger lusher soundscapes
Touring as anything from a 5-piece hard rocking band to a more intimate 2-piece, their stage presence has an instantly identifiable and unique delivery.
Michael is a four-piece band from Perth WA that is fronted by Reggie Michael (vocals), Sam Michael (guitar) and backed up by a rhythm section comprised of bassist Giles Lowe and drummer Alex Megaw. Having crossed paths playing in a variety of local outfits over the last twenty years, this quartet have finally come together to deliver their own take on dirty blues.
While Michael has only played a handful of shows, the members have collectively played the best part of 1,000 shows and spent countless hours in studios together over the years, resulting in a tightness and musical chemistry rarely seen in a band so young. Fresh from their stellar debut at Blues at Bridgetown 2018, receiving glowing reviews from the organisers and audience alike, this band is set for big things in years to come.
9.45pm The Whiskey Pocket
Band Members are Derek (Bass/Vocals), Sid (Drums) & Darryn (Guitar/Vocals).
