The Mikey Long Trio are an explosive blues outfit hailing from Perth, WA. Mikey’s soulful vocals and searing guitar work is backed up by a driving rhythm section comprising of Dylan King on Bass and Almin Fulurija on Drums. The trio have earned a reputation for their explosive, high-energy lives shows at various venues and festivals including Bridgetown Blues, Duke of George, Clancy’s Pub and The Indian Ocean Brewery “Big Easy” Festival. Blues ConFusion | 8.45pm

Blues ConFusion was formed in 2013. The band has gone through several line-up changes with Phil now the only original member. The new and exciting line-up includes Bella Jean (Bourgault) on Vocals, Simon Sharp on Keyboards, Chris Fayle on Drums and Andy Robinson on Bass. Phil is a self-taught guitarist who has been writing and playing his own songs since 1980. He formed Blues ConFusion as an outlet to play his original blues rock jazz fusion music. Bella Jean has been singing since she was born. Bella (Phil’s Daughter) started a love of singing at primary school, trained at the Perth Academy of Dance and Musical Theatre and WAAPA. She is a versatile singer who is comfortable with many genres including jazz, blues, musical theatre, pop and folk. Simon is a multi-instrumentalist focusing mainly on piano, Hammond style organ and occasionally trumpet. He has previously played in bands Blue Manna & Dave Hole and Kerry B Ryan. Chris is the oldest member of Blues ConFusion, Chris first sang and played drums on stage at the age of four, and has vowed to keep doing both until he gets them right. Over the years Chris has played music with some of Australia’s finest. Multi-instrumentalist, Andy has been active in various roles in both the amateur and pro music scene for over 40 years, covering many different genres. Together with Chris they form a very tight and dynamic rhythm section. Blues ConFusion has played the Blues in Bridgetown, the Ellington Jazz Club, The Perth Blues Club, the Duke of George, the Darlington Arts Festival, The Darlington Pavilion Fund raiser, the Mt Helena Whim Festival, the Toodyay Music Festival, The Mundaring Folk and Blues Club, The Perth Folk and Roots Club, the Parkerville Tavern, the Glen Forrest Sporting Club, The Beaufort Tavern and many others, A major highlight was performing at the 2022 “Let’s Celebrate Belmont festival” where they supported Dave Faulkner from the Hoodoo Gurus who came to Phil’s house to jam some songs with the band before the gig. They also had the privilege of supporting Blue Manna with the legendary Dave Hole on Guitar on several occasions.
